This indicator represents the body of the wine – “1” being the lightest like a Beaujolais and “5” being the most full-bodied like a wine from the Minervois.

The producer Michel Laurent is a fan of diversity and for this Côte Rôtie from his house of Tardieu-Laurent, he has married the fruit of the vignes de Syrah with 60 years of age from four different vineyards. Then the wine has been aged in oak casks from the forests of Tronçais and Allier. In the northern vallée du Rhône, this is a typical "Côte Brune" wine of Côte Rôtie, with some intense aromas and powerful tannins which will soften into more vanilla-ey flavours over the coming 5 to 10 years.  Given the characteristics of this wine, we recommend you serve this wine with more robust dishes such as a rich beef stew.
