This indicator represents the body of the wine – “1” being the lightest like a Beaujolais and “5” being the most full-bodied like a wine from the Minervois.

The Maison Tardieu-Laurent has produced here one of the best Cornas, vieilles vignes that you could taste. It's produced from Syrah vines of between 80 and 100 years of age.

And in the true Tardieu Laurent style, it is not overly alcoholic at 13.5%; which is almost restrained for the southern La Vallée du Rhône.  With imposing aromas of cassis and liquorice, it is a powerful wine that has been through oak casks coming from the three main French forests.  As one of Tardieu's “signature” wines, it should impress.

Thanks to all these qualities, you can enjoy this wine now but with a little patience, it will become more supple, more rounded and will become the perfect accompaniment to a dish containing truffles.
