This indicator represents the body of the wine – “1” being the lightest like a Beaujolais and “5” being the most full-bodied like a wine from the Minervois.

A great wine from the Côtes-de-Castillon area, adjacent to the vines of Saint Émilion, this « Château Claud-Bellevue » can be appreciated from now.  The 75% of Merlot brings a softness and roundness to the wine, completed with the Cabernet Franc which gives it fruity aromas. This wine has been made with the guidance of consultant winemaker Stéphane Derenoncourt, who believes that this region is a rising star and that Claud-Bellevue is one of its best.  There is a litle bit of tannin but this is mostly masked by the sheer fruit from these grape varieties.  The wine will be good for at least another 5 years.  With a meal, this could go very well with a roast chicken or a leg of lamb.
